 Position Purpose

Work with a Scrum team of developers, analysts, and product owners to build Java-based applications for a multi-tier Restaurant POS system.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:
- Working within an Agile development methodology
- Collaborating with peers to meet complex multi-tier system requirements
- Implementing Java applications in the Cloud and/or on a hosted Linux server and/or on an Android device
- Providing subject matter expertise for Java-specific development challenges
- Ability to learn and absorb new technologies as needed
- Sharing of application testing responsibilities with project team
- Creation of web reports using reporting tools

 

Qualifications

 

· Education/Certification:

Bachelor's in Computer Science or comparable.

· Required Experience:

- 5+ total years of professional software development experience
- 3-5 years of professional software development experience using Java
- Experience working on a POS system
- Experience with POSLOG and other Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- JUnit testing framework
- JBoss
- Java Spring Framework
- Linux expertise
- SQL experience
- MOM experience (preferably hornet Q)

· Desirable Experience (not required):

- Experience working on a Scrum team, experience in a team room
- POS payment applications or transaction processing
- Test-Driven Development
- Continuous Integration
- CouchDB or other document database system
- Jetty
- Jasper Reports
