Description: Lead/Sr .Net Developer

Reston, VA

3-6 Months (With Possibility of Extension)

 

Summary:

Client needs a new website that will allow Internet customers to submit service requests, check the status of existing service requests, and list requests submitted by others. This website should use Open311 RESTful services that interface with Clients existing CRM system. Client has written code for Open311 services, but these services need to be re-architected.

 

Description:

This project involves the creation of both an ASP.Net web application providing Open311 RESTful services (standard resources plus a few extensions) and an HTML user interface for common service request tasks.

Skills:

·         Have all server-side components built in .Net 2.0 or 3.5

·         Use C# as the programming language for .Net components

·         Be compatible with SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 for database features

·         Use common, well-supported, free JavaScript libraries (e.g., jQuery) for client-side HTML interface scripting

·         Utilize Client's .Net master pages, assemblies, and user controls for the HTML interface

 

The application will need to work on interfaces with JSON-based services provided by the Service Request LoGIStics application. It is likely that the application will also need to interface with services provided by ESRI's ArcGIS Server.

 

The application must follow established best practices for web application security, e.g. the OWASPGuide to Developing Secure Web Applications. Deviations from established best practices for security must be approved by Client.

 

The work product must be composed of software that is either open source (licensed under terms recognized by the Open Source Initiative as being open source) or software written by the contractor to which Client will be assigned ownership. All source code will be provided to Client.

 

Candidate should be strong in :

Candidate must be well-versed in ASP.Net development, Visual Studio, C#, JSON, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Ajax/JSONP, and XML

 

Experience in RESTful services….highly preferred

 

Good to have experience in …. ArcGIS
