Job Description:
We are looking for an exceptional individual with very strong technical and analytic skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. The role will serve as a Senior SQL Server SSAS Developer within the Trading Functions Global Market Risk team. The SSAS Developer role is accountable for both tactical and strategic cube solutions as well as unit testing and ensuring alignment with BP standards.
The project objective is to deliver a consolidated data warehouse reporting solution and to provide efficiencies from the current manual and tactical reporting process for the Financial & Derivatives and Oil Market Risk teams located in Chicago, London and Singapore.
Key Accountabilities:
Design and develop SSAS solutions to requirements
Document design and implementation
Develop unit tests and ensure proper code coverage
Manage code within a source control system
Manage builds and migrations between various staging environments
Working closely with various project team members including the Project Manager, and Business/Data Analysts and the Business Users
Support the UAT process
Develop solution in an agile manner
Troubleshoot technical issues and identify potential solutions
Assist with release or change management process
Provide time and effort estimates for project planning
Assist in identifying project risks and mitigation plans to ensure proper delivery of the project
Assist in scope management and escalation of issues
Document and provide knowledge transition to support
Essential Experience:
8-10 years of professional hands-on design and development experience with SQL Server SSAS.
10+ years of experience with the delivery of data warehousing and reporting solutions.
4 years of experience within the Market Risk trading domain specifically Oil and F&D.
Strong to Expert Oracle SQL or ANSI SQL
Delivery of complex hierarchies within SSAS
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and design patterns
Experience with large data warehouses (>1TB)
Experience with configuration and setup of SSAS
Familiarity with Power Pivot
Demonstrates evidence of project completion including transition to support in an enterprise environment
Effective and clear communicator
Experience with large-scale enterprise wide IT environments containing multiple technologies, servers and logical environments
Experience with enterprise project development lifecycle
Experience with Change and Release Management
Application of best practices to ensure quality and accuracy of project deliverables
High self-motivation and strong delivery focus
Desirable Criteria and Qualifications:
Data modeling experience
Experience within a Global environment
Essential Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferably in one of the following areas: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management, Computer Science, Management Information System
