Systems Analyst II
Position supports the Service Organization business units and Lead Systems Analyst in through comprehensive consultation to technical staff and business unit clients in recommending and implementing solutions to business problems. Prepare detailed system requirements, specifications, and documents and provide consultative services through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle. Provides fulfillment of business-critical automation solutions through the successful use and execution of the following:
• Lead JAR sessions with business partners, Elicit and prepare detailed system requirements through conducting JAR/JAD sessions, interpreting business requirements and working with business partners and development teams
• Prepare requirement specifications such as Use cases and System requirement specifications and Supplementary specifications; Tag and trace system requirements to business requirements
• Develop functional design details and specifications through collaboration with development teams and using system architecture and other technical considerations
• Provide analyst support during all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle including development and testing (unit/system) phases
• Responsible for all artifacts and tasks produced by Systems Analyst in the Requirements and Analysis and Design disciplines including Use Cases, Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Functional design, Business Rules, User Interface requirements, Mapping documents, Supplementary Specifications, and associated diagrams.
• System issue resolution of critical problems/tickets through data analysis and root cause analysis
• Partner with Development Lead to ensure that designs meet business and technical requirements
• Consult with business partners to resolve business and technical issues primarily supporting claims related processes.
• Provides input to scope, sizing, and time estimates required to complete projects
• Perform Systems testing and prepare application(s) for the Systems & UAT testing leads
• Analyze defects found in testing and make required code corrections and enhancements
• Assist with, respond to, and resolve production support issues/problems as required
• Bachelor's degree in relevant area or equivalent work experience
• 4 or more years of work experience in an application development analytical role
• Working experience with planning, leading, documenting and facilitating JAR sessions, eliciting and analyzing system requirements and capturing in System Use Cases or System Requirements Specifications (SRS) and developing Functional Design Specifications
• Working experience with Software Development Lifecycles including the Agile, Rational Unified Process (RUP) and Waterfall methodologies
• Highly skilled in verbal and written communication speaking to non-technical resources about technical issues and concepts
• Superior analytical and problem solving/root cause analysis skills
• Knowledge of web technologies (e.g., Java), database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL) and legacy technologies (e.g., COBOL, JCL)
Demonstrated solid knowledge and experience with:
• 3 or more years' of directly related work experience
• 3 or more years' experience writing SQL
• 2 or more years' experience supporting and understanding technical systems
Preferred Skills:
• Bachelor's degree related to Information Technology
• Experience using Service Center and Service Manager
• Knowledge of BCBSF change management process
• Knowledge of AGILE SDLC
• Knowledge of claims processing systems, process automation, screen scraping
• Knowledge of databases, schema, and advanced API use in programming
• Experience with Rational Tool Set (RequisitePro, ClearCase, RSA), Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Internet Explorer.
