Full time Sr. Java Developer for our client
Location: Seattle, WA
Tasks and Responsibilities
• Ensure technical design and implementation complies with established guidelines and standards
• Creates technical detail design artifacts utilizing UML to meet functional specifications and requirements
• Designs reusable service components, libraries and frameworks
• Responsible for designing web service code to support Enterprise-level services.
• Defining and implementing service interfaces using WSDL
• Mentors other team members in Service Component Design and Development
• Assists with the Solution Acceptance and Requirements process, content and results
• Assists with the Solution Development and Integration process, content and results working with the Solution Architect
• Participates in logical & physical data modeling discussions for their sub-systems with the database team
• Participates in quality management reviews, in particular reviews of the designs, prototypes and other deliverables to ensure they fulfill requirements
Required skills, abilities, and certifications
• Minimum 5 years programming with Java EE, XML, Web Services and other key Java technologies
• Minimum 3 years experience developing distributed applications development
• Minimum 3 years experience conducting solution design employing OO, Design Patterns and UML
• Minimum 3 years experience performing in a lead role on major projects
• Experience in Object Oriented design, UML modeling, classic design patterns, JEE patterns
• Must have high integrity, accountability, a positive attitude, and be willing to do what it takes to make the team successful
Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications
• Strong leadership and team building skills
• Experience delivering complex but scalable business driven solutions
• Working knowledge with popular Java technology framework such as Spring and Hibernate
• Experience with database related development in DB2 and/or MS SQL Server
• Knowledge and experience with IBM development tools (RSA/RAD)
• Strong knowledge of object oriented concepts with preferred UML experience
• Experience with SOA/SOMA concepts, design patterns, tools, techniques, best practices and the ability to establish a SOA environment
• Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Ability to share technical knowledge and clearly communicate technical concepts
• Responsible, conscientious, organized, and self-motivated
• Experience in IT from a retail perspective a plus
• IBM SOA certifications a plus
