Position: Cognos Administrator

Location:  Milwaukee WI

Duration: 6+Moths

 

Relevant Experience (Yrs)           :           6+ years

Technical/Functional Skills         :          

Good technical and functional knowledge on Cognos8, Cognos7, Unix, Database (Teradata, Oracle)

 

Excellent Communication skills

Experience Required   :          

•           Sound knowledge of Cognos Architecture, Installation

•           Sound knowledge of Cognos Administration in multi-server configuration

•           Sound DBMS knowledge (Teradata, Oracle)

•           Good working experience with DB tuning of Cognos queries

•           Ability to work across multi layers of application: DB, App server, OS.

•           Sound knowledge of migration using Cognos and UNIX scripting.

•           Knowledge of performance parameters in Cognos application.

 

Roles & Responsibilities          :          

•           Analyze and understand existing cognos7 and cognos8 setup.

•           Evaluate server requirements for cognos10 implementation

•           Evaluate configuration and use of application server, web server for Cognos 10

•           Integration with active server directory/ldap.

•           Proof of concept for migrating Cognos components to cognos10

•           Documentation per standards

•           Work with infrastructure team

•           Work with app owners and stakeholders for appropriate set up

 

Generic Managerial Skills       :          

•           Ability to influence the stakeholders

•           Good communication & coordination skills.

•           Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
