Web Back End Software Engineer

Location: Dulles, VA

Duration: 12 months w/ possible extension

 

Complete Description:

 

• Prototype, develop, design, and test product server side features as defined while adhering to company standards

 

• Design and develop for high performance, heavy traffic, and high availability. You must know when, why, and how to design a cache, optimize a query, and eliminate a bottleneck

 

• Be an active participant in an Agile/SCRUM environment

 

• Break down projects into tasks with time estimation

 

• Proactively identify and communicate issues

 

• Work in a team environment with other developers, designers, product managers, business analysts

 

• Troubleshoot technical and functional issues

 

• Collaborate with product managers to define product requirements

 

Must Have:

 

5+ years of relevant experience

- Experience developing large-scale DB backed WebApps using OpenSource Tools

- Experise in Java or other Obj-Oriented Language

- Experience with Linux,MySQL,SOLR,Tomcat,Hadoop, and PhP

- Experience with Javascript, jQuery, JSON, Subversion, Maven,  and Firebug

- Ability to write efficient SQL and good general DB design skills.

- Proficiency with J2EE Architecture and Frameworks

- Experience with Web Services Design (SOAP and REST) both Client and Server.

- Experience developing in standards based env using version control and IDEs

- Experience using SVN/CVS, Eclipse or NetBeans

- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

- Proficiency in Front End Technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS)
