Role Description:
Testing Specialist (TSs) creates test deliverables (for example, strategies and plans, test cases) and performs hands-on testing. Types of testing may include functional, technical integration, performance UAT and end-to-end. TSs deploy or execute job streams for creating test beds, assign test scenarios, author test scripts, and track defects to certify that applications meet technical and business requirements. TSs act as advocates for the end-user by analyzing and making specific recommendations on usability/functionality improvements that can be integrated into business processes. Participate in development throughout the development life cycle. They are responsible for safeguarding sensitive data and security credentials, including passwords that are exposed to during the testing process.

• American Payer System (Health Claims – Institutional and Professional) – 3 to 5 years**
• Health Benefit Structure
• Fee Schedules
• Claims Pricing
• Provider Contracts
• Data and/or System Conversion Testing
• ICD-9 Codes and understanding of ICD-10 initiative
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 implementation
• Quality Center – 3 to 5 years
• SQL – - 3 to 5 years
• Strong communication skills oral, written and presentation
Accountabilities:
• Solicit feedback from customer and participate in customer forum sessions
• Act as Liaison with the business and technical design teams in the identification of design gaps
• Act as Liaison with business stakeholders and developers in the identification, analysis and resolution of defects
• Act as Liaison with the business organization to facilitate and coordinate user acceptance testing
• Coordinate and conduct a UAT
• Forecast and estimate testing related work
• Divide work activities within the team to efficiently complete testing
Create Test Deliverables:
• Test Strategy
• Test Approach
• Review and Approve Test Cases and Test Scripts
• Test Evaluation Summary
• Identify and manage test data
• Identify and manage test environment dependencies and integration
• Coordinate integration and end to end testing with several systems internal to the client as well as external to the client
• Track and Report Test Results and produce test status reports
• Track and manage issues through the project life cycle that impacts testing and escalate as necessary
• Prioritize test cases for execution based on risk
• Evaluate and Recommend Quality Improvements

Business Knowledge:
• Stage III Testing Specialists are experts in the tools and methodology of their trade. They are familiar with the testing techniques such as reliability modeling, stress testing, tracing and regression analysis, and testing software (e.g., SAQ, SQL, HP and Rational test tools). Must have strong business and technical knowledge. Should possess a thorough understanding of the client's software environment and a general knowledge of their hardware environment. Must have an in-depth working knowledge of system testing techniques. In-depth understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle processes, procedures.
Technical Skills:
• Must have strong PC skills and demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite products. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project. Must have demonstrated proficiency using testing management tools and concepts (HP Quality Center). Must have demonstrated proficiency with creating and executing complex SQL queries, creating and managing test data, test design, test case development, test case prioritization, and executing testing in a complex test environment.
Work Experience:
• 5-7 years of progressive work experience in business and/or system testing, along with experience in technical operations. Demonstrated experience in testing applications is required. Health care industry, insurance and managed care environment experience is required. Testing leadership experience is required.
Level of Education:
• Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience is preferred. CSTE certification is preferred. SQA testing certification is preferred.
