Job Description :
· We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join the Information Services Division at our headquarters in Cleveland.
· This position reports to the Manager of Architecture.
· This is a bonus eligible position; relocation assistance is available.
· The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for researching, cost-justifying, recommending, and establishing current and future hardware and software architectures for all aspects of information technology, from networks up through operating systems and shared software services.
· This position requires a broad, hands-on technical background, with knowledge of IP networking, telephony, platform system administration, storage technologies, virtualization, relational databases and layered software services such as system monitoring, scheduling, backup/recovery etc. In addition to these general responsibilities, this individual will participate significantly in architecting a consistent, well-integrated, enterprise approach to the deployment of the SAP technology stack and shared services.
· The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining the Infrastructure strategies that result in efficient and effective use of investments made in information technology infrastructure products and services.
· This person will maintain expertise in the area of infrastructure architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure that a multi-year investment strategy is in place to support future business needs.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related technical field and the following background/experience:
This position requires excellent listening, written and verbal presentation skills, strong data-based, analytical and reasoning skills, sound decision-making and organizational ability.
Candidate Must Have :
· Demonstrated ability to conceive, architect, and socialize enterprise-class infrastructure solutions and services;
· Required minimum of 5 years experience, and preferably 5-7 years experience working in an architect capacity;
· 5-7 years experience in the engineering and operation of either a Unix or Windows OS platform environment is strongly preferred;
· Solid foundation in IP-based networking and contemporary virtualization technologies is also strongly preferred;
· Ability to work in a matrix team environment and familiarity with ITIL methodology and practices a plus.
· Recent technical administration experience in 2 or more of our infrastructure areas
· Shows an architect discipline and the desire to move beyond day-to-day work into a role that is more focused upon strategy around the platforms that you have expertise in.
