Title: DATA WAREHOUSE BUSINESS & SYSTEMS ANALYST

 Seeking a Data Warehouse Business and Systems Analyst to gather information from users and design a system to resolve user problems. The successful candidate will have experience with conducting requirements gathering and analysis, creating entity relationship diagrams, data analysis, Teradata database architecture, use of Teradata BTEQ is required, Business Objects XI Universe, report and dashboard design.

 

 

DUTIES:

 

• Writes requirements document and high level scoping document, advises on alternatives and on the implications of new or revised data migration or reporting requirements.

• Performs data analysis by connecting to source systems and profiling and viewing data and understanding relationships between data

• Proficient in SQL and using Teradata SQL assistant to view data

• Designs overall system including Teradata scripts, Informatica, Business Objects Web Intelligence Reports, Universes and Xcelsius dashboards

• Designs Universes, Classes, Objects, and Hierarchies for Multidimensional Analysis of underlying datasets

• Develops complete specifications or Source to Target Mapping document which details the business rules and enables developers to write ETL code and create schemas & reports.

• Analyzes subject-matter reports to be automated; specifies number and types of records, files, and documents to be used in ETL processes and outputs to be produced; prepares diagrams and data flow charts; and coordinates tests of the systems and participates in trial runs of new and revised data marts.

• Applies systems analysis and design techniques to resolve complex problems.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant computer-related field AND 5 or more years' equivalent experience.

• 5 years professional working experience as an Enterprise data warehouse business analyst or systems analyst

• Experience with Business Object XI R2/R3, Universe Designer, Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, CMC, Crystal Reports, Xcelsius 2008, Business Objects Data Integrator, Business Objects Data Services, Business Objects Data Federator is a nice to have

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to develop and present technical presentations

• Competence in all phases of systems analysis techniques, concepts, and methods and knowledge of available system software, computer equipment, and the regulations, structure, techniques, and management practices of one or more subject-matter areas.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be organized and detail-oriented.

• Must have a team player attitude.

• Ability to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner.
