Position 1:

Security Software Test Engineering Leader
Work Location:- Houston, TX
Duration : 12 Months+ Contract
Rate : Market

Job Description

Test Engineer to develop test plans and automated test scripts for PC software in a team-oriented environment.  Lead a small team of Software Testers/Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis of software functionality, test plan and test script development, and test automation.  Convert functional specifications into efficient test plans.

• Interface with R&D development team to understand requirements and improve SW test effectiveness.

• Actively participate in developing & improving existing testing technologies, including methods, approaches & execution.

• Perform high-value ad hoc testing and set up of complicated test configurations.  Suggests test direction & provides status reports of tested software.

• Provide leadership, direction and strategy on technical issues.

• Responsible for and manage timely, quality test deliverables.

• Involved in the investigation & resolution of problems

• Manages small - medium projects and teams of technicians or test/development

• Operate as a SW Test/Release Lead and oversee activities of other SW Test/Release leads.

o Lead complex testing tasks requiring planning, scheduling and extensive troubleshooting; provide in-depth defect characterization.

o Provide mentoring/guidance to SW technicians and test/release engineering leads.

• Recommend/manage test process improvements

• Maintain good relationships with client and teams customers.

• Promote strong communication.

• Work closely with counterpart Test Lead located in Asia, perform test auditing and provide guidance on coverage and strategy.

 

Qualifications

Experience and knowledge (Must have background in one or more of these areas.):

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study, with 3- 6 years related experience or equivalent.

• At least one computer programming language as well as a scripting language.

• Expert in technical subject matter such as PC architecture, PC firmware, PC device drivers, HW level encryption, trusted platform module, PC security applications, a variety of devices that supported by Security Software, etc.  Familiarity with HP Protect Tools SW and the concept of BIOS domain is a plus.

• Knowledge of test processes and test case development

• Experience with automated test script development

 

Skills:

• Leadership qualities (e.g., integrity, sense of urgency, goal oriented, motivator, etc.)

• Ability to work with a diverse team — must be a team player.

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills in order to generate creative/innovative solutions.

• Strong project management skills.

• Keen attention to details and accuracy.

• Very good planning, organization, and facilitation skills.

• Effective communication skills in English.  Chinese language skills a plus.

• Experience with automated test script development

 

Skills:
