Position Summary
As a SQL Server Database Administrator, you'll be part of skilled team that manages hundreds of database instances that are the core of Gannett's most popular web sites. Our database architectures are some of the most revered in the industry. Highly available environments that include cross-site merge replication, clustering and horizontally load balanced read only server farms are sure to keep you challenged. If that's not enough, you can step into the abyss of perpetual complex performance optimization opportunities.

Active Directory, Load Balancing, Log Shipping, Merge Replication, MS Windows 2003/2008, Redgate SQL Tools, SQL Server 2005/2008, Transactional Replication, T-SQL, VMware, Windows Clusters
Activities
Analyze, Automate, Build, Configure, Deploy, Document, Fix, Install, Migrate, Monitor, Optimize, Scale, Script, Support, Test, Troubleshoot, Tune
Responsibilities
· Design, build and manage Microsoft SQL Server systems and databases
· Troubleshoot database performance problems
· Proactive performance tuning
· Fulfill customer database change management tasks
· Collaborate with internal teams and customers
· Provide after hours support when needed
Minimum Qualifications
· Five years SQL DBA experience in an Internet service provider or enterprise-level environment
· Strong in Windows
· Good troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with log shipping, transactional and merge replication implementations
· Strong scripting skills
· Excellent written/oral communication skills
