Mobile Application Developer

The Mobile Application Developer is responsible for the specifications and development of cutting-edge mobile applications. In this role you will work as a key member of the development team to deliver easy to use mobile applications for the various my-villages products. These mobile applications will target multiple platforms including iOS (iPhone and iPad), Android and HTML5. The right candidate will have deep skills and prior experience in one or more of these platforms, strong passion for focusing on usability during application development, a strong understanding of the software development life cycle, strong communication skills, and the desire and ability to contribute as a leader on the development team.
Position Duties:
- Specification, development, and debugging of mobile applications
- Working closely with back-end development team and 3rd party UX design firm to implement mobile product requirements
- Creation of reusable libraries and mobile application frameworks.
- Evaluate and research latest technologies.
- Advise management with regards to pros and cons of implementation of specific mobile platforms
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; desired majors include Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.
- Familiar with Agile software development methodologies is preferred
- Successful candidates will have 3+ years of relevant mobile application development experience in a professional environment along with 5-7 years of overall development experience
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Multi-platform experience desired
- Experience with creating and consuming Web Services (RESTful web services)
- Familiarity with workflow and database driven applications
- Awareness of security issues related to mobile application development.
- Expertise in building mobile friendly web sites and web applications is a plus
- Outstanding oral and written communication.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are required.
