Our client is in need of assistance in upgrading and managing the multiple database architectures that exist within the department.
The department's database assets include SQL Server (2000, 2005- 2008r2) and Oracle (10g-11g) residing on multiple operating environments, including Oracle Linux and Microsoft Windows Server. In order to effectively manage, tune, administer, and secure the enterprise data assets in the department, there is a need for a highly skilled resource capable of working in all facets of database administration, maintenance, tuning, upgrade, migration and integration. In addition, the need exists to work with the current team to provide knowledge transfer to junior staff and to work independently, as assigned by the Database Manager. Standard practices, processes and technology decisions will be implemented as a result of this effort.
The contractors must follow existing DEP standards and its methodology and work closely with DEP team leaders/management. New standards and methodology changes will be documented and implemented as a team approach.
Some of the work may include, but not be limited to performing analysis, developing utilities, writing technical documentation, develop code, providing consultation, developing reports, etc.
Contractor will be required to provide project status updates to the DEP Team Manager on a periodic basis not to exceed every week. This schedule will be conveyed to the assigned contractor.
