Our  Client in Houston, TX. A Major Oil and Gas Company needs an Application Developer for a 1 year Contract with very very possible extensions.

Job Description: 

This group handles all the development maintenance and support for the reservoir modeling and simulation data back end, front end and middle ware. We are looking for someone with expertise on the mid-tier and backend. Must have heavy desktop development, not just web. They must be able to work well with multiple teams, and be able to work side by side with engineers and geoscientists.
A DEGREE IN ENGINEERING OR PETROLEUM ENGINEERING IS KEY

MUST HAVE:
HEAVY C++
HEAVY C# or HEAVY PYTHON
GEOLOGICAL MODELING
RESERVOIR SIMULATION
HEAVY APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT

Works within a large / agile software development team developing new software products in a reservoir engineering and reservoir modeling context
Development team is co-located with Research staff and work in close collaboration
Works as a software developer responsible for developing and implementing software solutions in support of the above
This is not a consultant role. However, the team are regularly involved with feature elaborations and feedback / discussion on design and architecture
May involve some prototyping to determine the best path forward
Advanced C++experience
High proficiency in EITHER C# OR Python
Strong software design skills
Considerable Windows desktop software experience; Web / online only experience will not be considered
Source control systems
Good communication skills
Works well in team environment
Linux experience
Agile software development experience
Experience with client / server paradigms including commanding, message passing
Oil & Gas Engineering or Geoscience domain knowledge (simulation and reservoir modeling experience specific experience for maximum relevance)
