Job Title: PowerBuilder Developer

Location: Silver Spring, MD

Duration: 3+ Months

 

Position Summary:

The Application Developer position is responsible for the development and support of both Ad Sales and Content applications.  This position requires strong Powerbuilder and Oracle 9i+ experience; in addition the position will also require development in SQL Server 2008.  The ability to problem solve and work as part of a team are fundamental to the position.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop new software and provide modifications, updates and corrections to existing software applications.

·         Work in a time sensitive environment where the individual will be required to multitask between varying technologies and projects.

·         Effectively communicate with other developers, business analysts, and QA members.

·         Troubleshoot complex problems.

 

Requirements:

·         5+ years' experience using PowerBuilder and Oracle 9i+ in a client-server environment.

·         Experience developing in PowerBuilder 12 in classic mode and using the PFC.

·         Some experience working with PowerBuilder 12 and .NET framework.

·         Oracle PL/SQL hands on experience.

·         Familiarity with offloading processing from a PowerBuilder application to a SQL backend:  using stored procedures for data window INSERTS, UPDATES, and DELETES, using stored procedures as data window sources, and creating local external function calls to execute SQL procedures and functions.

·         Knowledge of SQL tuning in Oracle 9i+.

·         Data modelling concepts and best practices.

·         Strong problem solving skills.

·         Proven ability to pick up new technologies.
