Job Title: Business Analyst with MS Excel

Location: Hartford, CT

Duration: 6 months

 

Experience Required: 6+ years

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Mandatory Skills:

·         Proficient in Desktop Tools, Excel, Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Visio

·         Previous pricing, statistical modeling or actuarial experience required (4 to 5 years)

·         Autonomy, Accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills

·         Computer Science skills:-

-          Strong experience in development of actuarial tools in complex IT environment;

-          Proficient in VBA and Excel programming,

-          Experience as business leader of IT projects

-          Understanding of data mining, predictive modeling and other advanced analytical techniques

 

Responsibilities:

·         Analyze and document rating/pricing processes across lines of business and geography.

·         Identify commonality across rating and pricing processes.

·         Analyze data quality for pricing elements across underwriting workflows

·         Participate in designing and implementing an automated rating and pricing infrastructure.

·         Work with actuarial and analytical teams when integrating tools and models into IT Platform.

·         Provide guidance to actuarial and analytical teams with regards to IT requirements / best practices for integrating models into IT Platform

·         Create specifications on data requirements for data collection, validation, analytics and storage in support of models.

·         Provide support and training to users of analytical tools and models created by the Analytics Team.

·         Ability to perform following Agile Development activities:

·         Understand management goals and objectives

·         Ability to create Process and Workflow models

·         Facilitating business discussions.

·         Understand stakeholder/business/customer needs

·         Liaison between business community and technology group(s) in order to obtain sign-off of Requirements

·         Develop expertise of the System applications and data warehouse

·         Represent customers to the Agile team

·         Collaborating with Agile team members to meet the required needs.
