Total experience in required skill (years)               ~6 years

 

Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills

Daily monitoring and maintenance of over several  servers.

 

Perform back up, file replications and script management for servers.

 

Test and apply new software and maintenance patches, including patch management services.

 

Complete security audits on a routine basis.

 

Scripting with Perl, Python, and Shell.

 

Implement server virtualization to streamline business continuity efforts.

 

Red Hat Certified Engineer - RHCE Certificate required

 

Red Hat Systems Adminstrator - RHSA Certificate is highly

 

Roles and responsibility               

Ability to occasionally work early, late, or on weekends as projects demand is required.

Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 or similar (CentOS, etc.) required.

Experience with basic version control concepts, preferably Git.

Solid fundamental knowledge of networking: basic operation of TCP, UDP, and routing.  Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and SMTP.  Working knowledge of HTTP and HTTPs, and the Apache web server.

Experience with JBoss preferred.

Experience with shell scripting and knowledge of at least one scripting language commonly used for system

administration (Perl, Python, and Ruby).

Experienced with policy-based configuration management systems such as CFEngine or Puppet preferred.

Administration in an environment with 100+ systems preferred.

Experience with SAN devices and RAID configuration preferred.

Working knowledge of installation tools for RHEL 5 and 6, including Kickstart, PXE, YUM, and RHN required.

An understanding of VMWARE virtualization technologies a plus.

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills     

Linux systems engineering experience with security (DIACAP),DBA experience, Postgres or SQL.

Experience using and supporting Jboss, Apache and Tomcat.

Experience with scripting/coding (GNU, GCC, etc).

In-depth understanding of Windows Server 2008 operating system; Windows Win7 operating system; IBM AIX operating system; Redhat Linux operating system; Suse Linux operating system.

Worked in a closed area and are familiar with NISPOM requirements.

Create and maintain custom packages for the RPM Package Manager (RPM) .

Creating and maintaining BASH shell and PERL scripts .

Must be knowledgeable with DNS including DNSSEDC and TSIG deployments .

Ability to debug kernel, device driver, or hardware issues.

In-depth knowledge of Apache / Nginx Servers tuned for very high performance.
