The candidate will work in the IT Service Operational Reporting department as a business systems analyst, focusing on metrics, reporting, and communication. Strong analytical skills in the domain of IT service management metrics are required.
As a subject matter expert, the candidate will act in a lead role with cross-functional teams to understand metrics and reporting needs. An ability to understand complex IT metrics and communicate metrics via reports to the internal client, and to the Management, is essential for success in this role.
SOR is a metrics and reporting solution provider for Corporate IT. It is responsible for capturing and managing the right data, systems, and processes to provide key performance indicators to all levels of management. To achieve this, accurate and timely reports need to be provided to various cross-functional teams and management to analyze and to make decisions.
Essential Functions
• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
• Work with IT and business leadership to understand the data and information requirements to develop metrics aligned with the business need
• Help design data models, identify and analyze data flows from different data sources, based on the reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with solutions delivery teams, communicate requirements, work on developing the test plans and ensuring the delivered solutions meet business requirements
Job Requirements
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true need
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
• Being an expert in metrics
• Being an expert of requirements for KPIs in IT based on services and service management
• Expert to develop and deliver metrics representative of the needs of Operations
• Develop useful metrics to assess operational health
Core Skills
• Thorough functional understanding of IT Support processes, metrics and key performance indicators
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of other programmer/analysts cross functional peers to support deadlines
• The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
• To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, task and project management, and organizational skills
• Strong presentation skills to communicate the essence behind metrics
• Deep commitment and responsiveness to business needs, constraints, and tight timelines, while also managing their expectations for realistic cost and timeliness for process definition work
• Self-disciplined, self-motivated with ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes quickly
• Excellent interpersonal, communication skills in writing, presenting, informing and listening
Education and Experience
• A Bachelor of Science Degree required; Information Technology or a related technical field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years working in IT environment, as a business analyst working on data-driven applications and solutions.
• PMP certification is a strong plus
• IT architecture skills in the area of business intelligence and data warehouse concepts
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete assigned project responsibilities under limited supervision
• Strong plus: Demonstrate knowledge of ITIL or equivalent skills
• Knowledge of Service Now – especially previous work on creating metrics based on the Service Now data - is a strong plusThanks & Regards
