General Purpose: 

Reporting to the Manager of Solution Support within the Business Systems Group, this position performs detailed analysis, requirements gathering, design, and support in response to reporting and analytic needs. Ensure that end user requirements are satisfactorily supported by applications. Act as a liaison between the users and the technical team. Provide end user support in use of applications, including user of ad hoc reporting tools, data warehouse database, and central reporting portal. 

Essential duties: 


·         Combine business and technical knowledge to determine the most appropriate approach to meeting a business need and be able to communicate the need in both business and technical terms. 

·         Encourage collaboration and partnership with process owners, business managers, staff and faculty in meeting application requirements. Motivate and sustain continued collaboration across teams and team members. Through collaboration with process owners, define business requirements; create functional specifications and document findings 

·         Responsible for researching production support business related service requests (SRs) and incidents 

·         Identifies data elements needed to support new requirements 

·         Responsible for creating and executing test cases to validate ETL and report code changes made for break/fixes and new enhancements 

·         Responsible for weekly windows patch testing and regression testing after data refreshes 

·         Provides internal subject matter expertise to Developers and other ITS teams 

·         Liaison with Yale business users and SMEs to build up internal subject matter expertise 

·         Determines level of effort involved for production backlog service requests and new enhancements 

Experience and Training 

·         Bachelor's degree 

·         At least ten years' experience in user centered needs analysis, including report development, systems analysis, testing and user training. 

·         Exposure to large-scale projects with competing deadlines, using a system development lifecycle methodology. 

·         Experience with Data Warehousing and proficient in SQL, with prior developer experience interfacing with Oracle EBS systems. 

·         Experience with reporting tools, preferably Hyperion Interactive Reporting (BRIO). 

·         Experience using desktop applications, including MS Project, Excel and Word 

·         Preferred - University experience.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to and to work with people from all levels of an organization including business managers and technical staff.
