• Working knowledge of one software delivery tool such as Microsoft SMS, BMC Marimba, CA Unicenter (SDO & AMO), SCCM.
• Working knowledge of one version control tool such as CA Harvest, CVS, VSS, PVCS, SCCS.
• Working knowledge of service management software such as HP Openview, CA Service Desk.
Roles & Responsibilities • Development/Engineering of automated/unattended software deployment executables per documented requirements/specifications.
• Perform testing/validation of deployment executable candidate.
• Perform compile of in-house developed application using specified build tools.
• Packaging of deployment executables into software delivery tool.
• Perform installations of new in-house developed or third party software, software upgrades, and/or software patches. Deployment may be manual or executed with the use of a software delivery tool.
• Perform version control on all developed deployment executables.
• Evaluates and installs patches to desktop and server operating systems
• Resolve installation related problems.
• Maintains build configuration settings within specified build tools.
• Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
• Provides technical support by utilizing working knowledge of systems.
• Works under direction of senior engineers and assists with integration and implementation of systems.
• Provide technical support to other IT departments and user organization on relevant production control technical issues.
• Assist with the testing of new or upgrades of the operating systems and system administrative software prior to implementing into the test (QA/QC) and production environments.
• Perform special assignments of a technical nature and to develop alternative solutions based upon independent analysis.
• Actively maintain an effective work relationship with customers and peers and maintain an ethical and business relationship with outside vendors.
