Position: Java Web Developer

Location: Minnetonka, MN

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Health Care experience is must

 

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will join a small efficient development team responsible for building and maintaining web portal applications. These portal applications are written in Java utilizing JSR 168 and JSR 286 technologies. They make use of WebServices to access both internal and remote data sources. Our applications leverage new java technologies such as Aspect Oriented Programming. Additionally they take advantage of a number of open sources technologies like Spring Web Flow, Spring Web Services, Hibernate, JQUERY, and JBOSS.   Key aspects of this role will include: Actively participate in design of product enhancements. Identify new technologies that would improve our problem space and evangelize their adoption. Work closely with the business to understand requirements and produce design artifacts. Develop loosely coupled reusable web portlets as part of a large portal application solution. Implement features within strict government timeline constraints. Write extensive test suites to monitor development, and ensure stability of application. Contribute to front end development using JQuery as preferred JavaScript framework. Debug application errors in test environments. Mentor and train less experienced team members.

Must Have Skills:

            -10+ years of Java
            -Stronger emphasis on mentoring and leadership
            -Good communication skills
            -Ability to influence others without being a dictator.
            -Proficient in developing web applications, both front and back end
            -Proficient working with SQL Databases
            -Fluency with industry standard development best practices

Nice to Have Skills: 

-Spring
-Hibernate
-Portal development especially with JSR 168 or 286 standards
