The candidate should have substantial work experience with Cognos 8BI and experience in design and development using the 8 BI platform, Business Intelligence Series 8 tools, Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, etc...   
The experience should cover:
- developing reports extensively using Analysis Studio, Query Studio and Report studio by creating various drill-thrus, cross-tabs, dashboards, list, grouped lists, charts and summary reports including report formatting,  sorting, grouping, filtering, creating prompts, creating calculations and limiting data.
- using Framework Manager to develop metadata, create models, create and publish packages to Cognos Connection in order to generate queries and reports
- configuring data, object, and package level security in Framework manager
- developing dimensional models, analytics and reporting, business analysis, data analysis, and logic data modeling
- developing with analysis studio and developing Cognos powercubes
- Oracle experience - Ability to write queries using Oracle, and pl SQL stored procedures

Additionally - experience with OLAP analysis and Cube development:
- ability to understand and develop complex BI requirements
- expertise in developing Cognos 8 BI Framework Manager Models
- expertise in developing complex Cognos 8 reports & dashboards in Report Studio and Analysis Studio
- experience with modeling, designing, and building star schema database and structures
- knowledgeable and experienced with data modeling, including strong dimensional modeling techniques
- worked with relational databases & programming concepts
- having worked in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills a plus
