Senior Cognos Administrator

Location: Lansing, MI

Duration: Long term

 

Job Requirements:

Must Haves

·         Must have at least 6-8 years of installation, configuration, and administration of Cognos 8.4 in multi-tier production, Virtualization, Windows 2003 environment.

·         Must have at least 6-8 years of experience with Cognos capacity planning and performance management.

·         Strong ability to monitor Cognos environment for usage and performance metrics. 

·         Will author audit reports to constantly monitor system performance and set up system performance metrics in the Cognos Administration dashboard.

·         Will be expected to mentor colleagues and be proactive in developing colleague skill sets to have a better understanding of Cognos Administration.

·         Strong ability to analyze and communicate technical issues, including problems with Cognos infrastructure, Cognos configuration, and Cognos system testing.

·         Knowledgeable of best practices with regards to Cognos Administration.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

 

 

Additional desired qualifications

·         Knowledge on Cognos Enterprise Planning would be an added advantage

·         Higher Education experience (particularly HR and Finance).

·         Experience preparing project-related documentation.

·         Experience with migrating content between environments, applying Cognos security with LDAP.

·         Experience with Cognos on VM-WARE

·         Experience working with Cognos infrastructure installed on an Oracle database
