 Position Description-Virtual Desktop Deployment Support Technician

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

• This position will assist Business Technology with the configuration, deployment and testing of Citrix XenServer, XenDesktop, XenClient, Citrix Receiver, Citrix Provisioning Server, and Citrix NetScaler products.
• Candidate must be a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) for each of the above listed Citrix products and have successfully deployed the listed products within enterprise deployments of a minimum 500 user deployment.
• References for deployments will be validated and scored.
• Candidate must demonstrate extensive, proven hands-on experience in Citrix XenServer, Citrix XenCenter, XenApp 5 or Citrix XenApp 6, XenDesktop 5, Citrix XenClient 1.0, Citrix Receiver for Desktop-Mobile Devices-Mac, Citrix Provisioning Server 5.1 or 5.6, Branch Repeater, NetScaler, Citrix Single Sign-On (Password Manager), Citrix EdgeSight, management and configuration of RSA/Safeword SecureID Server, and virtual desktop storage sizing experience using SAN/DAS environments.
• Duties will include streaming in-house and 3rd party applications into Citrix environments with application support teams on validation and deployment of streamed apps.
• Candidate will serve as subject matter expert and provide support for problem/performance issue resolution for all aspects associated with Thin Client computing based on Citrix technologies.
• Estimated period of contract is August 8, 2011 to December 31, 2011.
• Contract hours will be for 8 hours per day. Starting times will vary.
• Initial resource requirement will be 40 hours per week and could decrease after Citrix environments are in place.
• Candidates could work remotely once virtual environments are in place.
• Selected candidate must be available for the duration of the contract.

 

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

Candidate(s) not meeting these requirements will not be considered.

• Candidate must be a Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) for each of the listed Citrix products.
• XenServer 5
• XenDesktop 5
• XenApp 5/6
• NetScaler 9.x

 

SUPPLEMENTAL QUESTIONS:

Proposers will be required to answer the following supplemental questions in Section 4.9

1. Describe your lead experience installing and supporting Citrix XenServer, Provisioning Services, XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler and all related solutions within a 500 or more user enterprise environment. Please include LAN/WAN configuration details.

 

2. Describe your experience installing and supporting Citrix EdgeSight 5.x within a 500 or more user enterprise environment.
