 Immediate Requirement :-  Sybase application DBA  - Consultant needed

Location:  Chicago.

Duration: 6-8 Months

 

we can do an internal interview to shortlist suitable candidates to forward to client.

 

immediate  onboarding =  no notice period.

 

 

The detailed JD of the role is:

 

Roles and Responsibilities :

1.            Help support teams for analysis of Production database performance issues

2.            Help development team for performance tuning during development

3.            Monitor prod and non-prod environment for performance issues proactively using in-house tools and give suggestions

4.            Manage database sql code in Source control and work along with release manager to co-ordinate non-prod and production   releases of DB code.

5.            Manage masking activities for database

6.            Co-coordinating setup of new servers, database / users, refresh of databases with other teams

7.            Co-ordinate activities for database patches / upgrades /migrations

8.            Execute small projects on need basis (one time data migrations, implementing monitoring across apps, automating day-2-day activities)

 

Technology         :

1.            Sybase ASE 15 (In depth knowledge of performance tuning, Sybase internals).

2.            Hands-on Unix Shell scripting (for fixing existing scripts, writing DB monitoring scripts). Knowledge of Perl / awk will be advantage.
