We have an immediate project opportunity in the New York City, NY for an UI Developer – Freemarker, CMS for a major media/entertainment client.  The Web Developer is focused on writing templates, scripts and other processes that produce content for the clients websites as well as syndication for these sites. The client is looking for a front-end software developer that has worked with building Content Management System (CMS) templates and work is proficient in Freemarker scripting (open source Java coding). The successful candidate is someone who is passionate about technology, product development, and who can thrive in a fast-paced news & finance organization. The ideal candidate have a solid mix of traditional web development coupled with knowledge of application development skills. .

 

Qualifications:

This position will work with the software development team to build Freemarker templates and assist in the build and migration to a new content management system (CMS). Qualifications  College degree required, BS in Computer Science or Engineering and 1-2 years professional experience.  Strong (advanced to expert) FreeMarker (Java) Scripting language experience is required.  Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) is required.  Previous experience building web sites. Experience with a large-scale web site is a plus.  Experience working with JSP/PHP pages.  Thorough knowledge of all user-facing web standards including HTML/XHTML, DHTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX.  Experience with client/server projects.  Good written and verbal communication skills.  Good interpersonal, collaboration, and teamwork skills  Attention to details is a must.  Prioritizes multiple tasks effectively.  Candidate must show an aptitude for detail, displaying resourcefulness towards accomplishing given task or goals.  Position requires flexible hours i.e. the ability to work occasional overtime.
