Job Title:  Teradata DBA

Location:  Memphis, TN

Duration:  12 Months

Rate:  Depending on Experience

 

Technical Skills Needed:

-      TARA, online backup, windows netbackup

-      Hands on experience doing database administration tasks in Teradata version 12+ for large scale data warehouse environments (> 8 TB)

-      Use of Teradata DB Administration tools – PMON, TDMANAGER, Viewpoint, TD ADMINISTRATOR

-      Experience using Teradata Utilities – BTEQ, FASTLOAD, MULTILOAD, SQL Assistant

-      DDL and SQL

-      Teradata Performance Tuning techniques – statistics, partitioning, index strategies, compression, etc.

-      Scripting and automation skills (linux, unix shell)

-      Familiarity with data modeling tools and techniques

-      Experience in database environments where business reporting tools, such as Business Objects and Cognos, are used against Teradata databases   

-      Logical and Physical design techniques which address analytical and/or tactical environments

Soft Skills Needed: 

-      Good Documentation  

-      Excellent communication skills

-      Experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously

-      Ability to access situations and prioritize with little supervision

-      Strong analytical and problem solving skills

-      Strong troubleshooting skills

-      Ability to interact well with peers, development support groups and management
