1) Production support for various business applications in a Primary and Backup role
2) Provide 7X24 oncall support to business applications. This is a rotating assignment.
3) Perform DBA tasks such as: Create New Databases, Perform data backup, perform data restore, perform data refresh, performance tuning, performance monitoring
4) Write new or modify existing shell scripts, write new or modify existing PL/SQL scripts
5) Maintain documentation using standardized SWIs(Standard Work Instructions)
6) Be sensitive to system issues and be alert to respond in a timely manner
7) Work closely with a team of high caliber DBAs while solving problems, designing database solutions, escalating issues immediately
8) Play a very supportive role while filling in for others or taking additional responsibility when workload demands it periodically
9) Have a CI* mindset towards processes that are either internal or external to the DME group We are looking for an individual that is a self starter, likes to be a team player and sincerely brings that discretionary energy to the workplace
Skills Required:
1. Strong knowledge of Oracle and DB2 RDBMSs
2. Working knowledge of PL/SQL scripting
3. Strong knowledge of SQL(Structured Query Language)
Skills Preferred:
1. Knowledge of Storage management
2. Knowledge of Unix shell scripting
3. Knowledge of WEB technology
4. Data modeling, Data transformation, Data loading
5. Working knowledge of MS-SQL Server
