Job Title: Teradata DBA
Location: Irving, TX
Duration: 6 Months+
Skills:
- Providing DBA support for both Teradata system users & applications;
- Support DDL migrations across environments as requested;
- Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to 'front end' users;
- Mapping out the 'conceptual design' for a planned database in outline;
- Work w/developers and production support teams on various Teradata EDW issues;
- Assist w/'logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model;
- Implement the physical design to meet system storage/performance requirements;
- Participating in installing/test new versions of the database management system (DBMS) and TTU;
- Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;
- Writing database documentation (PCM/TSM), including data standards, procedures and documentation;
- Define roles within database;
Strong working knowledge of Teradata Manager and/or Viewpoint; Provide tuning support/recommendations as needed;
