Sr. Java Developer

Downtown Chicago, IL

through June 30th, 2012 with possible extension after that

 

The client needs someone Senior who has worked in a Government project.

 

The Sr. Java Developer is responsible for developing the Java Server Pages (JSP), web services, business logic, and data access objects (DAOs) as needed for the application.

Should have experience in building web-based applications in Java using the Struts framework and the Spring Framework or comparable Java EE frameworks in a large enterprise development environment.

Responsibilities:
·         Build a strong understanding of their functional area and the functional designs assigned
·         Develop JSPs, business logic, DAOs (using SQL), and other components as necessary to implement their assigned business logics
·         Follow established development and documentation standards
·         Follow the established configuration management and code build process
·         Create and update unit tests using JUnit
·         Execute Assembly Test
·         Support System Test and UAT by performing bug fixes and assisting testers as needed
·         Support ongoing development and changes to the application as required

Desired Skills
·         Java EE

·         iBatis or Hibernate
·         Spring Batch
·         WebSphere
·         Rational Toolset (ClearCase, ClearQuest)


Personal Skills:

·         Able to communicate with business as well technology teams
·         Strong formal knowledge on industry standard techniques, methodologies and processes
·         Ability to think independently but still follow direction from leadership.

Experience
·         Minimum 5 years of Java development for large web-based applications using above mentioned skills
