Currently seeking a Technical Delivery Manager for a contract position with our retail client located in Framingham, MA.
Description:
The Technology Delivery Manager (TDM) will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of application development, testing, and implementation. The TDM will facilitate decision making, provide direction and thought leadership to the team. They will act as a liaison between the business user groups and the technical systems groups, including but not limited to architecture, design, development, infrastructure, testing and project management.
The Technology Delivery Manager manages initiatives that include, but not limited to information technology implementations, testing, upgrades, conversion and recovery relating to corporate change initiatives that impact a single major business or function. The TDM will focus on those initiatives that have a heavy reliance on outside partners and require strong coordination between client and their selected development partners. Normally, initiatives limited in scope to department products, processes or functions although some may have cross-functional or inter-departmental implications. All require cross-divisional coordination, communication, influence and negotiation. A Technology Delivery Manager is responsible for analyzing present-state, developing alternative future-state approaches and facilitating implementation.
Skills and Experience:
- 8+ Years Work Experience In The Following Areas:
- Experience working with multiple vendors
- Experience in leading the project delivery of complex enterprise application systems, distributed systems, and system integration solutions
- Experience leading the delivery of projects using the following technologies and concepts: B2B and B2C eCommerce, Java, J2EE, Data Warehousing, ETL, Ad hoc Reporting, Web-based solutions
- MS Project, MS Excel, MS Word
- High Proficiency Level in specific job related duties and skills are required
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct, organize, and lead small to medium project teams
- Define, plan and manage multiple development tracks and assigned dev resources
- Develop detailed vendor work agreements, vendor communication plans, project plans, budgets and schedules, including goals, risks, and resource allocation
- Create detailed implementation plans with tasks, start and end dates/times, resources, and dependencies (detailed work breakdown structures)
- Monitors project metrics for significant deviations in quality, cost, or schedule
- Identify, monitor, and develop mitigation strategies for all project risks and issues; manage issue resolution and mitigate impact
- Assists in establishing and improving project management methodologies, procedures and policies
- Oversee the system development and release management processes
- Oversee client/customer/vendor relations to ensure that service expectations are met
- Validate the design with the stakeholders to ensure that the design satisfies the requirements
- Provide consulting to users and other developers on how to effectively design solutions for complicated business/system processes
- Work with the Data Architect and act as semantic architect to ensure solutions meet the functional and performance requirements
- Guides and consults with IT management and technical staffs regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services
- Participates in the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques
- Has wide latitude in determining creative solutions to strategic and operational needs
- Manage customer relationships, commitments, expectations, and satisfaction
- Manage project scope, delivery, quality levels, performance, and end user adoption of solutions
- Manage cross functional teams
- Support iterative and process-oriented approaches to projects
Preferred:
- Masters degree in related field preferred
- System Analysis experience preferred
- Distributed application development experience preferred
