Microsoft technologies is a plus
Description: Business Intelligence focused Architect specialized in the areas of Business Intelligence, and Data warehousing utilizing the IBM Suite. A demonstrated expert level understanding of the entire Business Intelligence stack is required for this position including Cognos BI/Reporting, InfoSphere Information Server, and DataStage. InfoSphere, QualityStage & Metadata Workbench experience. Additionally, experience with formal data quality and master data management tools is a plus. Candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both in person and on the telephone.
Oil & Gas experience is a plus
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Responsible for overall design and architecture of client Data Governance, Business Intelligence, and Data Warehousing solutions, including presentation, data architecture and integration, development and report delivery.
· Help in definition requirements and develop strategic and tactical solutions.
· Responsible for working closely with project management, cross-functional teams of users, IT developers, and analysts to ensure successful delivery of key functionalities.
· Solution Architecture
· Develop solutions in line with client requirements
· Delivery Technical Oversight
· Provide practice level Sr. Architect oversight, advise, and support to project architects
· Provide methodology support and customization to design and development using waterfall, agile BI etc
· Perform Short-Term Technical Assessments
· Provide short-term general BI Organization Maturity and Data Quality assessments
· Develop recommendations and roadmaps
· Mentor, Train, and develop technical and sales resources in DG, BI, and DW topics
· Require extensive knowledge in:
o Business Intelligence
o Deep understanding of general BI strategies and solutions.
o Personal hands-on experience architecting, designing, implementing, and delivering solutions -utilizing technologies from a variety of vendors is a must.
o Data Warehousing
o Understanding and personal hands-on application of both "bottom-up" and "top-down" data warehousing architectures is required. The ability to conversationally discuss detailed aspects of complex data warehousing solution elements is critical to the success of the role.
o Data Governance
o Concrete experience with and a wide base knowledge of general Data Governance principles, methodologies, and frameworks is a critical area of focus for the position including Master Data Management and Data Quality.
o Skills Required
§ 7+ years of IBM BI specific experience;

o Qualifications
-Expert in the IBM stack of Business Intelligence, Integration, and Database tools including hands-on development, integration, and customization experience.
-Extensive professional experience creating solutions with the following technologies is required
- Oracle Database
-InfoSphere Information Server
-Cognos BI and Reporting
-Strong knowledge of best practices and techniques with the aforementioned tools is required.
-Expert in Multidimensional data modeling
-Candidate must understand business processes, be a detailed-oriented person and quickly grasp new concepts. Additionally the candidate will have strong presentation, interpersonal, software development and work management skills.
- Highly analytical candidate, skilled troubleshooter, highly developed technical and problem solving skills with the proven ability to provide creative and effective solutions through data warehousing and business intelligence applications
-Able to work in a diversified environment;
Preferred Traits (not required)
-Knowledge of other vendors MDM, Data Quality, Integration, and database technologies a plus. Desired vendors include IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft.
-Knowledge and experience in the development & deployment of master data solutions and data warehouse data architecture for large data volumes and complex reporting solutions.
-SOA based architecture and integration experience
-Strong Analytics Focus and Business User Focused;
-Very good inter-people skills to effectively interface to customers, team members, and other colleagues;
-Time/Project management skills
Education
-B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science (other majors acceptable with requisite experience)
-Related advanced technical certifications and/or degrees preferred
