Position: SAS 9.2 or 9.3 Data Integration / Enterprise Guide Consultant with working knowledge of SAS Forecast Server.
Duration: 2-3 Months (Extension possible)
Location: Rosemead, CA
Rate: Open (Rate for Metasense is $75/hr max)
DESCRIPTION:
Client is seeking an experienced SAS 9.3 Data Integration Consultant using Enterprise Guide to design and build a framework for their forecasting solution.
Experienced SAS 9.3 Data Integration/Enterprise Guide Consultant with working knowledge of SAS Forecast Server to architect and build a framework for pulling multiple data sources (Oracle, Web etc) into a forecasting database,integrating this data into a forecasting process and architecting the framework to produce results through reports all scheduled to execute via batch and be exploited interactively.
The candidate must have strong experience and skills with the following duties and responsibilities, but also possess the ability to work with little direct supervision in a team environment interfacing and relying on several
client employees in order to do your job, while maintaining excellent troubleshooting skills and demonstrating effective oral and written communication skills.
The ideal candidate must have excellent communication and facilitation skills (verbal and written).
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least five years experience in working/developing in a SAS9 environment (preferably as part of a data warehouse or data mart project).
• Experience in using Enterprise Guide and knowledge of augmenting EG with SAS code
• Experience in using Enterprise Guide to pull data from multiple data sources into a target data store
• Proficient in Base SAS programming and SQL programming (including MACRO and Store Process coding).
• Be able to facilitate design sessions to identify user requirements of the forecasting solution
• expert level knowledge of the primary SAS products of EG SAS version 9.2 or 9.3 and working knowledge of Forecast Server.
• knowledgeable of the SAS programming language and creation of SAS Stored Processes
• the ability to modify and migrate SAS code generated by EG or Forecast Studio from the client desktop to the SAS servers
• experience developing and testing SAS applications
• functional knowledge on the use of SAS products to automate forecasting processes
• ability to work with business users to determine their requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements
• Provide guidance in the development of reports/graphs and determine how they should be integrated into the forecasting framework
• Provide guidance on data management decisions for the forecasting data (e.g. determine optimum decisions about what data is stored in Oracle, SAS Datasets, and client machines; when to uses SAS code for
reading and writing data to the source Oracle databases, address data security decisions; assist with the organization of user libraries; and other data management decisions)
• The ability to integrate with the Customer's scheduling software so as to run and manage the execution of SAS code.
