Job Description:
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is a technical generalist with skills ranging from production systems/network management and perhaps even software development. This position requires an aggressive learner, a tenacious self starter and an effective organizer, with experience in systems administration, with development experience and performance tuning being a plus. This versatile position requires familiarity with all the support concepts of busy web sites: Systems and database administration; Networking; Process troubleshooting; QA and rollout automation.
· Function as a technical generalist responsible for the overall health and performance of the assigned client's Property
· Work independently on assigned projects, being willing and able to ask for help when needed and escalate problems as they arise.
· Develop tools to automate the deployment, administration, and monitoring of a large-scale Linux environment
· Gain deep application-level knowledge of the systems as well as contributing to their overall design
· Work with development teams to harden, enhance, document, and generally improve the operability and maintainability of our systems
· Identify and triage outages, monitor and remediate systems and network performance
· Assist in the configuration/build-out of new deployments to facilitate our constant growth
· Function as a key member of a cross-functional team to address new product deployment, system performance, capacity planning and SLA compliance.
· Available to Participate in a 12x7 (daylight hours) on-call pager rotation
Minimum Job Qualifications
· 2+ years experience doing project oriented systems administration
· Extensive system administration background
· Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshooting ability
· Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Apache, performance tuning concepts, and web applications
· Experience using scripting languages to perform complex automation in a large-scale environment
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Experience working with development teams
Preferred Job Qualifications
· 5+ years experience with Linux (RHEL a plus)
· 5+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX installations (ISP background a plus)
· Experience with network designs, protocols, and troubleshooting.
· Strong programming skills in one or more of: C, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java
· Experience with SQL and commonly deployed database systems
· Experience with high volume websites and deploying services to international audiences

Job Description:
Junior Linux/Windows Administrators/Engineers with significant experience around SOC/NOC. Candidate should be willing to work in the 12 hours shift in a high pressure environment.
Job responsibilities:
· Administer complex UNIX & Windows based systems in a multi-tiered architecture, generally from the operating system, monitoring or application level and up.
· Be able to communicate issues and resolutions to a wider audience
· Ensure that issues are dealt in a timely manner
· Monitoring key aspects of critical online services via tools and proactive health checks for incident detection.
· Triaging, managing and resolving or escalating incidents related to real time performance of servers, network devices, and applications that underpin Microsoft's key online businesses.
· Ensuring the highest levels of service availability (Site-Up) by being the technical subject matter expert (hands on the keyboard) during the most complex incidents/outages related to Microsoft's online services.
· Driving service related activities through standard processes (i.e. change management, incident management).
· Providing feedback with Ops Center tools and process.
· Working with Ops center personnel, service owners, product groups, development teams, engineering, vendors, and others to improve key operational metrics (Quality, Customer Sat, etc.).
· Documenting troubleshooting guides and recovery procedures for service impacting that can be used by the Ops center resources
Job Qualifications:
· Extensive Linux system administration background
· Excellent understanding of Nagios monitoring system
· Ability to debug issues on a Unix environment in a multi-tiered architecture
· Knowledge of basic Windows System Admin and N/W admin
· Ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously with multiple requirements
· Attention to detail in handling of incidents and outages including clear verbal (conference call) and written (Outage notification emails, incident summary emails and incident ticket diaries) communication.
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment independently
· Scripting skills (a big plus)
· 3+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX and Windows installations
