SAP BW Backend Developer Expert knowledge of data extraction from SAP modules (ECC, EWM, etc.) into BW.  Must have a complete understanding of the entire BW architecture and the data life cycle.  Works with the front-end development team to provide accurate data to the business.  Develops high performing solutions in BW,  Works well in a team environment and contributes by sharing ideas and knowledge with the rest of the team

 

• Responsible for developing custom extracts to populate DSOs and Cubes.
• Responsible for activating and supporting standard extracts
• Works with Data modeler to Develop data models within BW for DSOs and Cubes, may act as data modeler at times
• Documents process and extracts, helps front-end team to document cubes
• Works with the front end team to provide the data needed by the business
• Develops, designs, and implements SAP BW objects
• Configures extracts/object for different data life cycles, daily, near real-time and real-time data
• Write ABAP programs as necessary
• Customization skills - Data source enhancements, Generic extractors, User Exits configuration and customization, transformations and DTPs, Update/Transfer rules modifications
• Support and act as backup for Data Services resources

 

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, or engineering or Bachelor degree with work experience within the Business Intelligence domain, specifically in BW
• Minimum of 7 years experience in Business Intelligence and/or ETL
• Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience building SAP BW extractors in BW, with PSA, DSO (ODS) and cubes
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in SAP outside of the BW Space (other modules)
• Must have current knowledge and experience with SAP BW 7.3
• Understanding of servers, networking, security, monitoring (Solution Manager, etc)
• Excellent written and verbal communications
• Strong analytical skills solving problems outside the norm challenges
• 3 to 5 years experience data modeling in Oracle, with at least 3 years in multi-dimensional databases, must include OLTP experience as well as OLAP
• 3+ years of Data Services experience

 

Nice to Have:

 

• Informatica Experience – Very High on the list
• Experience in reporting tools, specifically: BEx, Crystal Reports, Business Objects Web Intelligence (WebI), Business Objects Dashboard (Xcelsius) and other Business Objects reporting tools.
• Predictive Analytics Experience
• Experience in Aerospace and Defense Industry
