HPUX System Administrator responsible for executing daily service delivery of planning, organizing, evaluating, troubleshooting, installing and tuning of multiple large HPUX systems in a centralized data center environment
Skills:
30. Strong knowledge of OS fundaments on HPUX 11.00, 11.11, 11.21, 11.31.
31. HPUX software installation and management.
32. Experience in HP Intanium and PA-RISC servers.
33. Experience in VPAR, NPAR and HPVM.
34. HPUX patch installation and management.
35. File system creation and management using LVM.
36. Experience in VG export and Import.
37. Experience writing scripts and procedures for day-to-day operations.
38. Solid concepts on LVM, NFS, performance monitoring utilities and other core UNIX commands.
39. Experience in samba and FTP configuration and management.
40. Printer administration and management.
41. Experience in kernel up-gradation.
42. Preferably SAN experience in a multi-fabric, multi-path fiber channel environment.
43. Disaster recovery experience including data replication technologies.
44. Experience writing scripts and procedures for day-to-day operations.
45. Experience on Virtualization.
46. Experience in handling startup scripts
47. Strong Networking fundamentals and interface configurations.
48. User management and OS Hardening.
49. Work experience in HP Service guard.
50. Work experience in HP MP (Management Process.)
51. Administration and configuration of Business Copy Volumes from Unix side (BCP).
52. Strong understanding and comprehension of ITIL fundamentals.
Job Description
15. Installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of Linux operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
16. Responsible for troubleshooting Linux based hardware and software problems.
17. Monitors systems activities and fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security of systems.
18. Performs capacity analysis, monitors and controls usage of disk space.
19. Develops procedures for routine admin including backup/restore, shutdown & start-up.
20. Provides recommendations for improving the server environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gap, patch levels and hardware recalls.
21. Work with Command Centre, Service desk team for issue resolution & problem management.
22. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
23. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
24. Ability to effectively work on and prioritize multiple concurrent jobs.
25. Self-motivation and team-player attitude.
26. Coordinate with service provider for issues and incidents related to critical Server outages, SEV 1 issues and RCA.
27. Participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation.
28. Experience in ITIL process.
