Location : San Diego CA.

Duties

As a SQL Server DBA, you will be part of Database Team in the Global Information Services Organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for administration and maintenance of database servers and participate in the design of complex database systems.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Ø  Administration of SQL Server 2005-2012 environments.

Ø  24X7 support

Ø  MS SQL Server installation and configuration.

Ø  Responsible for backups, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.

Ø  Monitor and optimize system performance using index tuning, disk optimization, partitioning and other methods.

Ø  Capacity planning.

Ø  Responsible for providing and reviewing trend analysis and make informed decisions regarding resource management.

Ø  Responsible for managing and implementing HA solutions.

Ø  Participate in creation and enforcement of architectural standards.

Ø  Initiate proactive solutions and enforce best practice approaches to problem solving and maintenance of database systems.

Skills

Ø  Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving various performance issues and tuning.

Ø  Expert-level knowledge of database design, implementation, transaction processing, referential integrity, performance tuning and monitoring with an emphasis in MS SQL.

Ø  Strong experience with replication, clustering, Always On, mirroring and log shipping.

Ø  Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constrains).

Ø  Hands-on knowledge of database backup and recovery methods and tools (SQL native, Oracle RMAN, Idera, etc.).

Ø  Experience with SSIS and SSRS.

Ø   

o   MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle experience is a plus

Ø  Bachelors degree

Ø  5+ years of experience
