Job Title: Informatica Developer

Location: McLean, VA

Duration: 6+ months

 

Job Description:

The purpose of this request is to obtain developers for the Phase 2 of the Enterprise Portfolio Analytics & Reporting (EPAR) project in 4Q2013.  The project addresses the needs of the business divisions for responsive, timely, consistent, and accurate information for their respective projects and programs, including but not limited to scope, schedule, budget, and resources.  The current tools, data mart, and processes will not sustain the growing needs for metrics to measure Project, Program, and Portfolio performance, activities, opportunities, risks, and dashboard reporting. The urgent and timely needs are listed below.
               
1.  Implement and adopt a unified, flexible, and scalable single data store (data warehouse, data mart) for Project, Program and Portfolio data, information, analytics, dashboards, and metrics.
2. Implement and enable the use of Enterprise Data management, Analytics, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for Project, Program and Portfolio data, information, analytics, dashboards, basic metrics, advanced analytics, leading indicators, and predictive metrics.
               
The architecture and solution for the EPAR platform contains ETLs loading data from multiple sources PlanView, PeopleSoft's Project Costing System (PCS), Approved Project List (APL), and Emerging Project List (EPL) into the single data store (a combination of data warehouse and data mart) supported by a BI tool.  Technologies being considered are Informatica for ETLs and MicroStrategy for BI.  The data warehouse and data mart will be either Oracle or DB2 based.  The combined number of data elements from the multiple data sources to be ETLed is expected to be about 300, or less.
               
The scope of work will be to perform system design, code, test, and deploy ETLs for the data ware house and data mart, and provide post-deployment operations support and help transition system knowledge to Freddie Mac resources.

Skill level:  Senior (7+ yrs)

1.  Minimum seven (7) years industry experience in technology and development.
2.  Strong hands-on experience of ETL development skills with Informatica.
3.  Strong hand on experience in complex SQL development with UDB, Sybase, SQL Server or Oracle.
4.  Ability to work independently with minimum direction.
5.  Extensive experience in full software development life cycle
6.  Ability to prioritize and multi-task concurrent projects; Effective in resolving all clients and development issues.
7.  Strong UNIX skills with good shell scripting experience and Autosys scheduling tool.
8.  Working experience with Remedy and ClearCase.
