Job Description
Java/J2EE Developer is responsible for the detail design documentation, development, evaluation and system performance testing, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed and externally purchased infrastructure applications created for IT business partners.
Responsibilities
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
· Assist with production support issues/problems as required. Respond to and resolve production support issues.
· Understand code and design, analyze defects/issues found, develop and test solutions to fix errors.
· Identify application bottlenecks and opportunities to optimize performance.
· Research, prototype, design, develop, and test solutions for application enhancements.
· Translate functional specifications/requirements into successful implementations.
· Create application design specification documents from which code will be written.
· Create or modify code and design documentation for moderately complex system design that may span platforms. Ensure code complies with IT architectural and SDLC standards.
· Write scripts to run programs.
· Interface with external vendors, customers, and other IT teams on significant technical matters frequently requiring coordination across organizational lines.
· Provide scope, sizing and estimate time required to complete code development and provide this information to the project manager for input to the project plan.
· Identify, prioritize and execute tasks to meet critical project deadlines
· Mentor junior developers.
· Work in team environment and share knowledge.

Skills:
· Required Skills and Experience
· 5-7 years in Java and J2EE development with strong experience in multi-threading, ANT, and Eclipse
· 5-7 years of professional experience in system analysis, software design and development
· Development experience in J2EE frameworks (Hibernate, Spring, and Struts)
· Development experience in J2EE technologies (EJB, Servlets, JDBC, RMI, XML, and JNDI)
· Development experience in J2EE design patterns (Singleton, Session Facade, Factory, Service Locator, Value List Handler, Transfer Object, Front Controller, Iterator, Command, Observer, and Decorator)
· Development experience in Web Service Technologies (CXF, SOAP, WSDL, JMS, and RPC)
· Development experience in Perl, UNIX Korn shell script, SQLs, and log4j
· Hands-on experience with J2EE compliant application server Apache/Tomcat or Weblogic
· Hands-on experience with Oracle, Sybase, UDB, and SQL Servers
· Hands-on experience with UNIX (Linux, Solaris, AIX) and NT Windows Servers
· Hands-on experience with Clear Case and Autosys
· Solid experience with Active Directory, IBM Tivoli Directory Service, and RSA SecurI
· Solid knowledge or experience with SOA, SSL, SSH, Java Key Stores, Firewall, BigIP, DNS, and Oracle RAC
· Solid working knowledge and experience of System Development Life Cycle and Application Maintenance Change Procedure methodologies
· In-depth understanding of information security, deployment, performance, scalability, source control, change management, and disaster recovery
· Ability to work in a fast paced, interactive and agile development environment
· Strong time management skills and ability to work on concurrent assignments with different priorities
· Proven results oriented person with a delivery focus
· Good written and oral communication skills
· 4-year college degree in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Skills and Experience
· Good knowledge and experience of IBM Mainframe / Top Secret
· Experience in AWK
