Storage engineer

Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing management of the Firm's z/OS storage platform. The candidate will work closely with a team of storage engineers to provide technical support for all storage management related projects and activities. The individual will also act as a liaison to other departments on all technical matters related to storage management.

• Heavy experience with DFSMS software. TDMF and FDR/ABR,

• Experienced in mainframe systems programming and storage management. This includes working knowledge of Z/OS internals, SMP/E, HCD and disk I/O gens, VTAM, IPCS, JES, TSO/E, ISPF/PDF, JCL, IDCAMS, DADSM, VSAM, and OS/390 system software

• Knowledge of following hardware: IBM DS8300 disks, HDS USPV disks and EMC DMX4 disks.

• Experienced with migrating mainframe data to newer disk technologies.

• Strong communications skills. Ability to interface with various disk vendors.

• Experience with disk replication technology from EMC (SRDF/S and SRDF/A, GDDR a plus) , IBM (MGM a plus) and/or HDS in a three-site configuration

• Knowledge and experience installing and using EMC, HDS and IBM replication software.

• Experience with disaster recovery procedures & testing as well as datacenter relocation.

• Weekend work and on-call rotation required
