Job Title:     Network Security Engineer

Location:     Burbank, CA

Duration:     6 months  

 

Job Description:

Detailed Job Description/ Responsibilities:

Perform all aspects of Security Incident monitoring and response. Performs periodic network penetration tests. Investigates and follows up on security violations and incidents. Collaborate with clients, and other technical engineers to translate security and business requirements into technical designs. Hands-on installation and use of vulnerability scanners and open source security monitoring/auditing tools. Strong Microsoft OS knowledge Has experience with packet capture tools and analysis. Conduct security risk / vulnerability analysis of business and technology resources. Communicate areas of risk / vulnerabilities; propose mitigation plans to Information Security Management. Apply security engineering principles related to building, maintaining, and monitoring secure infrastructure. In-depth technical knowledge in implementing data protection and integrity, operating systems, network security, authentication, and security protocols. Perform Security Monitoring of critical enterprise resources. Security design and testing of disaster recovery procedures. Monitor networks to ensure confidentiality and integrity of duty and availability of all network services. Reviews security logs to monitor unauthorized system access attempts, both internal and external. Perform system audits and project work, including familiarality with assessment tools. Translate security requirements and information into effective presentations for non-technical users. Develop and maintain documents and implement IT security policy and procedures. Act as a knowledge base of compliance issues encompassing Sarbanes Oxley.

 

 

Required Competencies/Skills:

• Must have 6+ years of Information Security experience with at least 4+ years of hands on incident response experience
• Must be able to think strategically as well as tactically.
• Experience with Anti-Virus tools
• Experience with Security assessment tools
• Experience with TCP/IP,firewalls, VPNs and other network security devices.
• Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft, Unix).
• Knowledge of database applications.
• Hands on experience with Packet capture tools (e.g. wireshark)

 

Education Required:

• B.S. degree in Information Technology or related field
• CISSP, GIAC or CISA certifications desired
