LAN Engineer

Duration: 1 year contract

Location: Springfield, VA

 

Responsibilities & Duties:

-     Troubleshoot and repair network component faults.

-     Perform patching and upgrades to network components during

       maintenance windows.

-     Perform implementation and testing of new network equipment.

-     Create implementation plans for network installs, modifications and

      decommissions.

 Rotate on call duties with other team members.

Job Duty 1 with % of time – Monitor, troubleshoot repair of LAN components faults. 40% Job Duty 2 with % of time – Perform approved maintenance on network components. 25% Job Duty 3 with % of time – Create implementation plans for network installs, modifications and decommisions. 15% Job Duty 4 with % of time – Install and test new network equipment. 10% Job Duty 5 with % of time – Rotate on call 24x7 duties with other team members. 10%  

Desired Efficiency:

5 years experience troubleshooting and maintaining CISCO routers and switches 6500, PIX and CSM,  Juniper, Foundry MLX, F5 Load Balancers

 Special Training Desired:

5 years experience troubleshooting and maintaining CISCO routers and switches 6500, PIX and CSM,  Juniper, Foundry MLX, F5 Load Balancers
