Roles & Responsibilities

 

The Architect/Administrator will perform a variety of job responsibilities related to the design, delivery and administration of the database platforms.

The main responsible are in these three main areas:
1) Database Architecture and Strategy (DR planning, virtualization, cloud, environment mgmt., etc.)
2) Database Operations and Administration (Job monitoring, optimization, performance, etc.)
3) Data Architecture and Reporting (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS and other report development)

Technical Skills Requirements
- Deep knowledge (5+ years) and proven mastery of Microsoft SQL server suite of services including by not limited to scalability and performance, enterprise security, high availability, reporting integration and analysis servers across all versions of SQL Server greater than 2005.
- 2 to 3 years' experience with SQL Server Profiler, replication services, SCCM, SCOM, power shell and SQL management studios are required
- 5+ years' experience with data based design and modeling with a strong knowledge and proven experience with relational databases and design principles (OLTP, Star Scheme, and Snow Flake designs)
- Proven ability and experience in writing complex T-SQL and other database related objects (stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints, etc)
- Experience with developing packages with SSIS to execute routine and complex database processes including use of PowerShell.
- Experience developing SSIS and SQL solutions to provide business and operational level reporting.
- Experience with SharePoint a great plus.

Professional Skills Requirements
- A proven attention to detail and concern for quality / accuracy of delivery with the ability to balance concern with deadlines.
- Outstanding decision making and problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to synthesize complex topics into manageable / consumable information for less technical resources.
- Ability to adapt within a rapidly changing environment and has experience in Agile or iterative software development is a plus
- Microsoft SQL Server certifications a plus
- Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker
- Experience in Insurance Industry and/or management, a strong plus
