Purpose:
The Oracle DBA (DBA) role is to support existing Oracle based application. Duties to include performing database maintenance, technical support, supporting on-going application development, installation and upgrades of Oracle
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Analyst will have:
• 5+ years Technical Support Experience
• Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases and services of our enterprise application platform
• Monitor database events and proactively optimize system performance
• Work with the team to automate reactive procedures where possible, and to promote rapid response to known issues
• Work with other teams to promote changes to production and other environments
• Accountable for maintaining database configurations in compliance with established best practices
• Oversee data fixes for business issues or to address application issues
• Accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Work in conjunction with other IT, application development, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the database perspective
Education and Skill Set:
- 5+ years Oracle reporting & administration experience
- 5+ years Technical Support Experience
· Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the database architecture and the general application functionality used to maintain data integrity
· Knowledge of Oracle 10g & 11g
· Knowledge of Oracle RAC is preferred
· Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 is preferred
· Independent position requires excellent organizational skills
· Ability to multi-task
· Team player
· College degree or equivalent work experience
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Attention to detail
· Excellent follow-up
