Manages a team of Data Modelers and DBAs. Support both legacy and new initiatives in the data warehouse.

They use ER and ER studio for maintaining repository.

Perform upgrades, testing,

They have a .net framework that queries repository tables and has FM specific information.  They will also need to come in and document the scope of the system.

They need to get an accurate inventory.

Someone who can write SQL potentially some PL/SQL

Should be able to write a test plan and document results (this is typical for a data modeler, not looking for a tester)

 

ER Studio, ER Studio Repository, ER Macros (written in VB Script), SQL skills (oracle db experience)

Use Visio or ppt to document the environment

Good analysis skills

Using ER version 8.5

 

Description

Data Modeler acts as a liaison between the Database Administrator (DBA) and the requirements team for a low complexity IT project. The candidate performs business data flow analysis, design data model/business entity, data dictionary and database authorization during the IT project development cycle. Works with DBA to generate the database table structure, indexes and user authorization design for database creation.

 

Our team provides data modeling and database design support to various areas in Fannie Mae. We are going to be taking over support for the ER Studio Data Architect and ER Studio repository for the company. This individual needs to be familiar with the use of both tools, familiarity with VB script and maintenance of ER Studio Macros. We also have some .NET infrastructure that accesses the repository tables. So we need someone that can write and debug SQL and PL/SQL in support of this infrastructure. We are not in need a .NET developer, but if find someone is a 'jack of all trades', that would be awesome. This set of infrastructure is highly undocumented, so we also need the candidate to have good analysis skills and the ability to communicate well in both written and oral format to document the environment. Last but not least, we want to upgrade to the latest and greatest version of ER Studio and the repository. We would like this person to manage the upgrade including following Fannie Mae software upgrade processes, test the latest version of Embarcedero tools, and test our other components in conjunction with this upgrade.
