Note : The candidates have to be on a W2, and have to have an EAD, Green card, or be a citizen. The location is in Tempe, AZ and this is a 9 month contract.

 

Description:

The SQL Database Engineer will focus on administering SQL databases and interdependent servers and infrastructure within one or more of the enterprise data centers. The SQL Database Engineer (SDBE) will function as a technical resource to assist in proactive problem identification and solution proposal. The SDBE will also handle service requests from customers. This position will entail the installation and configuration of hardware/software, the management of IT infrastructure projects and components, and the monitoring and support of complex SQL databases. Additional responsibilities will include managing relationships with the company's IT vendors, helping to identify and implement innovative solutions to improve the infrastructure, and documenting all activities. Effectively interact with customers and other personnel.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Extensive interaction with customer; customer training both over the phone and in person
• May assist in the recruiting, hiring and evaluation of other technical support services staff

Skills/Qualifications: Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

Field (s) of Study: Computer Science or related field
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, tools and related activities
• Knowledge of quality initiatives such as Six Sigma
• Experience in presentations to multiple levels of employees within the organization
• Experience in supporting world class data centers
• Experience in global company
• Knowledge of Websphere, IIS, Apache, Unix and other types of database applications

Qualifications:

Ability to work flexible hours
• 5-7 years direct experience in Information Technology
• Experience in multiple operating systems in complex environments
• Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Experience managing and coordinating large scale projects
• Strong customer service experience
• Experience in enterprise Data Center operations
