Position Qlikview Developer

Location NYC , NY

Term –  18 months

Position Description

The Senior Qlikview (QV) Developer will be responsible for the development, unit testing,  documentation and deployment of Qlikview reports in the context of an Investment Bank that has  Oracle as its core current environment.  We are working towards developing a Data Service Oriented Architecture that will require knowledge of implementing such in other environments.  They will be a resource capable of working across Customer and Financial Information.  They will need knowledge and experience of finance and financial services.  Accounting knowledge or  Product Control will be  a plus for this particular role, as will experience in the Futures and Commodity Space.

The Senior QV Developer will work with the development and production support team to integrate the existing Corporate Systems databases with other firm applications via QV to ensure consistent, complete and accurate data integration.

 

Non Technical Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of Financial Services Experience
• Enthusiasm in Oracle and technology generally is a must.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Strong Problem Solving and Analytical Skills
• Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
• Experience with data integration
• Team Player, but can work autonomously when required.
• Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic person who is reliable.
• Ability to work with other departments and all levels of the company
• Ability to meet and exceed project deadlines.
• Strong dedication to quality customer service and a working knowledge of service support and delivery procedure
• Capable of documenting current and new development.
• The developer will be required to complete a weekly status report.
• Supporting a Production Environment is essential for this position.

 

Technical Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
• Must have minimum of 2-3 years on QlikView in agile Business environment

• Experience with QlikView v9.0, 10.0 or above
• Extensive experience in end-to-end implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) projects, especially in scorecards, reports & dashboards
• Strong knowledge in building optimized data model understanding Star Schema and Snow Flake schema based on Business requirements
• Experience in implementing QlikView best practices including script standards and System Architecture
• Experience with QlikView Server setup, configuration and administration in a clustered environment
• Experience with QlikView Publisher including job setup and distribution in clustered environment
• Extremely comfortable playing with the data using SQL in Oracle or MS SQL Server database (any one)
• Must possess good concepts in Business Intelligence and Data warehousing
• Business acumen in Investment Banking industry especially Product Control, Equities, Fixed Income and Risk Control is a major plus
• VB Script and Macros experience is an added advantage
