Must have strong javascript, html 5 and css 3 in an agile environment. Any mobile UI work is a huge plus.
Here is the job description:
UI team is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Senior JavaScript Developer to build full SDLC web applications for mobile and desktop browsers using the latest JS, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3 related web technologies for a new digital fitness platform with an emphasis on emotional experiences, elegant UI and an acute attention to scalability and performance.
This is an opportunity to partner closely with our business, product, and UX teams on projects aimed at making a significant creative impact for both our customer and internal (employee) facing applications. We are looking for someone forward thinking and passionate about inventing and integrating the latest advances in health & wellness technology as a key part of the team.
The ideal candidate will be someone who thinks creatively and constantly looks for ways to innovate and improve existing technologies, processes and systems. Additionally, this role will be expected to assist in defining Agile best-practices and coding standards on a fast-growing web development team.
Responsibilities:
• Develop object-oriented front-end application code in JavaScript and CSS/HTML that seamlessly integrates with back-end code systems • Build, test, and launch full SDLC web applications as part of a small, dedicated web development team (Web Applications are .NET MVC 3/4 back-end, JavaScript UI on front-end) • Refactor legacy code and participate in necessary unit tests as required • Execute through code complex designs that reflect the creative and art direction provided within an established technical framework • Shift between a creative and a technical focus depending on the project need and/or the type of project • Establish front-end technology requirements in collaboration with the web development team • Follow and promote UI/UX best practices and current web standards
Qualifications:
• 5+ years' experience as an Object-Oriented JavaScript, jQuery and/or jQuery mobile developer • 5+ years' experience with CSS and HTML • 5+ years' experience working on an agile SDLC, test-driven UI software delivery team • Working knowledge of Backbone (Marionette a plus) • Experience with JavaScript Unit Testing (mocha, jasmine, qunit, etc) • Experience with open source efforts, NodeJS and knowledge/participation in ES6 (standards definition for next version of JavaScript) a plus • HTML5 and mobile development experience plus • Strong education, communication and an ability to work on a multi-developer team - we greatly appreciate links to your work!
