Role : Security Consultant
Duration :  6-months
Location : Wakefield, MA 

 

Interview : phone and face to face

This function is responsible for all Information Risk Management remediation activities. Additionally, will work directly with local IT group and user departments to implement procedures and systems for the protection, conservation and accountability of proprietary, personal or privileged electronic data.

Position Description:

Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the data security field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Candidate must be able to work independently while interacting and collaborating with the corporate IT staff(10 members). This position reports to the Global Security Manager, Hours are 8:30am-5:30pm, 40 hours a week.

Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in the area of specialty and 2-4 years of experience in the data security field or in a related area. Must have working knowledge of Window Server (2003/2008) Active Directory, GPO, Symantec Endpoint Protection and WSUS.

Desirable skills/experience:

Information Risk Management vulnerability remediation. Regulations and Legal Compliance. (Massachusetts Data Privacy, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley).

The Security Engineer will be responsible for:

·         Reviewing IRM scan results and remediating all priority 1-3 vulnerabilities

·         Reviewing logs from security tools

·         Providing assistance and compiling information for computer incident investigations

·         Deploying and administering Symantec Endpoint Protection client for Firewall, Anti-Virus, Malware, IDS and NAC monitoring and remediation

·         Patch Management through the use of WSUS

·         Ensuring that all servers and workstations are secure to company standards

·         Assist system administrators with securing server/workstation configurations

·         Document security processes for GPO, Virus Remediation, WSUS

·         Insuring compliance with Global Security Policies across various platforms
